Andrew Eungi Kim
Andrew Eungi Kim (Ph.D. in Sociology, University of Toronto) is Professor in the College of International Studies at Korea University, Seoul, Korea. He served as the Dean of both the Graduate School of International Studies and the Division of International Studies at the same university. While his primary research interests broadly pertain to culture, sociology of religion, ethnic studies, and comparative sociology, he has written numerous articles on Korean Christianity, civil religion, liberation theology, multiculturalism, and Hallyu (the Korean Wave).
His recent publications include Korean Culture: Confucianism, Shamanism and Other Habits of the Heart (2022); Hallyu and Countercurrent: The Potential and the Limit to its Role as a Means of Cultural Diplomacy (2020, in Korean); and Korean Society: An Introduction (ed., 2017).
